Hi student!

Congratulations on your new student residence! We are Sirkula IKS, the renovation company in the Hamar region. We collect and take care of all the waste in your student residence.

Everything that is sorted turns into something new. If you sort your waste correctly, you help reduce the amount of waste, conserve resources and protect the environment. The Hamar region is among the best at sorting at source in the country! Now we want you on the team!

Here are our eight best tips for a more environmentally friendly student life:

1. Always sort your waste correctly

In Hamar, you sort your waste at home in the following way: food waste, plastic packaging, glass and metal packaging, paper and residual waste. Other types of waste, such as textiles, cardboard and hazardous waste, are sorted and delivered to one of our recycling stations or
approved return points. If you are unsure how to sort correctly, check:

2. Use the right waste bag

You sort food waste into brown bags, marked Sirkula (picture). Food waste turns into fertilizer and biogas that our garbage trucks use. If you are missing food waste bags, check the storage room at your student residence. Plastic packaging is sorted into a separate plastic bag of your choice and collected at the waste collection point.

3. Pay attention to the markings

It is not always easy to know how to sort correctly. Therefore, look for the sorting mark on the packaging.

4. Sort out hazardous waste

Don't risk environmental toxins from hazardous waste ending up in nature and the air we breathe! Dispose of hazardous waste correctly. This can include batteries, light bulbs, nail polish, spray cans, paint residue and cleaning agents. Most student housing at SINN has its own bins for this.

5. Use our recycling stations

At Sirkula's recycling stations you can deliver all waste for free, except for residual waste. Your nearest recycling station can be found in the cycle park (kretsløpsparken), just outside Hamar. Address: Arnkvernvegen 169, 2320 Furnes. You can also take the bus here!*

6. Hand over used items to our recycling stations

Do you have usable furniture, interior goods, sports equipment or electronics that you want to get rid of? Hand over used items and give them a longer life! Our recycling stations accept used items that go to our thrift store Resirkula!

7. Buy used goods at Resirkula

Are you looking for furniture, kitchenware, interior treasures, sports equipment or maybe a record player for your dorm? At Resirkula, Norway's first recycling shopping center, you can buy used quality goods that have been handed in for recycling for further sale in the center's unique shops. Here you will also find a bookstore, sewing room, café and our own "cheap corner". You will find Resirkula at the back of the recycling station at kretsløpsparken.
